FERC Looks To Relax Regs On Natural Gas, Oil Pipelines

Law360, New York (October 18, 2012, 6:05 PM ET) -- The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission said Thursday it was seeking to loosen regulations on the natural gas and oil pipeline industries with a set of forthcoming rules and a review of existing regulations.

The announcement comes at a time when FERC is taking a harder look at domestic natural gas and oil transportation as production has boomed across the United States. The commission issued three notices of proposed rulemaking and a staff report it said would address requirements "that no longer may serve their intended purpose."...
