Utility Bids To Strong-Arm Coal Miner Into Ch. 11

Law360, New York (January 10, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Seeking almost $25 million a judge awarded it in October 2006 over a coal contract dispute, Aquila Inc., a Midwestern electric and natural gas company, has requested that C.W. Mining Inc. be forced into bankruptcy.

Kansas City, Mo.-based Aquila filed an involuntary Chapter 11 petition against C.W., which also does business as Co-op Mining Co., on Tuesday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Utah.
