Deals Rumor Mill: Alstom, PHH, Helios

By Chelsea Naso (May 21, 2014, 4:14 PM EDT) -- Alstom SA is expected to snub a request by potential suitor Siemens AG for more information about its power business, a source told Reuters on Wednesday, which would reduce the chances of a bid to rival General Electric Co.'s $16.9 billion offer. The source told Reuters that the request is nothing more than a negotiating tactic and Alstom would be required to release the same details to GE. Siemens has been working on an alternative proposal to GE's that would see Siemens swap all of its rail business for Alstom's power arm and could see France take a stake in the resulting rail-focused French group....
