EPA OKs Controversial Mining-Waste Disposal Rule

Law360, New York (December 03, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has signed off on a proposed rule change intended to reduce the impacts of strip-mining for coal despite objections by lawmakers and environmentalists who claim the new rule relaxes restrictions by allowing coal companies to dump debris directly into streams.
