Deals Rumor Mill: Agrium, GE, Calsonic Kansei

By Benjamin Horney (October 28, 2016, 4:20 PM EDT) -- Shareholders of Agrium Inc. and Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc. are expected to "overwhelmingly" greenlight a merger that the two companies announced back in September, according to a report from Reuters on Thursday. According to the report, it is anticipated that about 99 percent of the votes will be in favor of the transaction, which will create a global player in the agriculture industry worth $36 billion. In order to go through, two-thirds of the votes cast by shareholders of each side must approve the deal, the report noted. Official approval could come as soon as next week, the report noted....
