Mass. Police To Pay $2.3M To Settle Superfund Suit

Law360, New York (July 06, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. government has filed a consent decree with the Massachusetts State Police that would require the department to pay $2.3 million to cover cleanup costs related to a 41-acre oil waste Superfund site in New Hampshire.

Under the proposed agreement, lodged Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire, the state police would pay approximately $2.3 million to reimburse the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for past and future cleanup costs.
