Law360, New York (September 30, 2009, 12:45 PM ET) -- An Illinois pipeline operator has agreed to pay more than $350,000 in civil fines to state authorities for allowing tens of thousands of gallons of gasoline to leak from its pipeline system.
Buckeye Partners LP and the state of Illinois filed a proposed consent decree with the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois Sept. 29. The settlement, which still needs to be approved by the judge, also requires Buckeye to reimburse the state an additional $82,000 for removal costs.
