Law360, New York (October 23, 2009, 1:46 PM ET) -- Citing a formal review being conducted by environmental regulators, a federal judge has extended a stay by 30 days in an environmental group's legal challenge to a 2,278-acre mountaintop removal coal mine in West Virginia.
Judge Robert C. Chambers' order, issued Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, stayed proceedings related to Arch Coal Inc.'s Clean Water Act permit for the Spruce No. 1 mine in Logan County, W.Va.
