Green Groups Ask To Intervene In EPA Miss. Delta Suit

Law360, New York (November 20, 2009, 1:57 PM ET) -- Several environmental groups have asked to intervene in a lawsuit brought by Mississippi’s levee board against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, voicing support for the EPA’s veto of a Mississippi River flood control project.

The National Wildlife Federation, Mississippi Wildlife Federation and the Environmental Defense Fund filed a motion to intervene as defendants Thursday in the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Mississippi. The motion is unopposed by both the levee board and the EPA.
