Ecuadoreans Can’t Stop Amazon Arbitration: Chevron

Law360, New York (January 29, 2010, 12:35 PM ET) -- Chevron Corp. has asked a federal court to dismiss an Ecuadorean group's motion to stay arbitration over liability for an alleged $27 billion in environmental damage to the Amazon rain forest, saying the court has no power to enjoin arbitrations conducted under bilateral investment treaties.
