Chubb CERCLA Suit Against Ford, Chevron Booted

Law360, New York (February 24, 2010, 2:04 PM ET) -- A judge has dismissed a Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act lawsuit brought by Chubb Custom Insurance Co. seeking to recoup more than $2.4 million in cleanup costs from Ford Motor Co., Sun Microsystems Inc. and Chevron Corp.

In an order Tuesday, Judge Jeremy Fogel of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California dismissed the suit but gave Chubb 30 days to file an amended complaint.
