Law360, New York (March 23, 2010, 2:52 PM ET) -- Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter has ushered in landmark legislation requiring the state to generate 30 percent of its electricity from renewable energy sources by 2020, marking the second-highest renewable energy standard in the nation.
The 30 percent requirement set forth by the bill, H.B. 10-1001, is the toughest in the Rocky Mountain West and is surpassed only by California, which has laid out a goal to reach 33 percent renewable energy by 2020.
