Law360, New York (May 20, 2010, 5:50 PM ET) -- Refusing to put the brakes on a proposed beltway in Winston-Salem, N.C., a federal judge has dismissed two related suits brought by conservation groups claiming the construction project violates the National Environmental Policy Act.
Judge Thomas D. Schroeder of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina on Wednesday granted summary judgment to the U.S. Department of Transportation and the North Carolina Department of Transportation in a 2008 suit fighting the beltway.
