2nd Circ. Mulls Chevron's Demand For Film Footage

Law360, New York (June 08, 2010, 6:24 PM ET) -- A federal appeals court is considering whether to grant Chevron Corp. lawyers access to footage from the documentary “Crude” for defense against purportedly “trumped up” Ecuadorean criminal charges, despite the protests of plaintiffs in a long-standing environmental dispute.

Judge Peter W. Hall indicated at a hearing Tuesday in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit that the court would consider allowing limited access to the film outtakes, after attorneys for Chevron said they had an “urgent” need for the footage.
