Texas Fights EPA Rejection Of Pollution Permit Program

Law360, New York (June 15, 2010, 3:51 PM ET) -- Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott has appealed the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's decision to strip approval from the state's qualified facilities program, which was designed to streamline the permit process for oil refineries and other industrial plants.

The Texas Attorney General's Office filed a petition Monday with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit on behalf of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, seeking judicial review of the EPA's final rejection of the commission's 1996 qualified facilities rule.
