Enviro Group Sues SuperValu Over Water Pollution

Law360, New York (July 21, 2010, 2:44 PM ET) -- Environmental group Waste Action Project has alleged grocery chain SuperValu Inc. violated two permits by discharging pollutants into a creek at a refrigerated warehouse and distribution facility in Washington state.

The company violated the Clean Water Act by discharging stormwater, which can contain pollutants, into Mill Creek, a tributary of the Green River and Duwamish River, near Auburn, Wash., according to a lawsuit the group filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District.
