Law360, New York (October 08, 2010, 4:32 PM ET) -- The Central Oregon and Pacific Railroad Inc. has paid $272,900 to settle government allegations that it violated the Clean Water Act when one of its trains derailed and spilled 4,200 gallons of diesel into an Oregon creek.
Roseburg, Ore.-based Central Oregon will not be required to take corrective measures, since it has already taken steps to maintain compliance with the law, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Thursday.
