2nd Circ. Greenlights Chevron, Ecuador Arbitration

Law360, New York (March 17, 2011, 2:42 PM ET) -- The Second Circuit affirmed Thursday that Chevron Corp. could proceed with an international arbitration dispute with Ecuador stemming from a high-profile case over pollution in the Amazon rain forest.

In that case, a court in Lago Agrio, Ecuador, recently slapped Chevron with an $8.6 billion judgment, plus another 10 percent of that amount in attorneys' fees.
