Mo. Court Affirms $11M Award Over Pig Farm Stench

Law360, New York (March 29, 2011, 6:56 PM ET) -- A Missouri appeals court on Tuesday affirmed an $11 million verdict against Premium Standard Farms LLC in a case alleging the stench of the company's hog farm disrupts nearby residents' quality of life.

The Missouri Court of Appeals held that contrary to Premium Standard's arguments, the award was justified under state law and not grossly excessive.
