Law360, New York (April 01, 2011, 5:41 PM ET) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Thursday it would require a Genon Energy Inc. coal-fired power plant in Pennsylvania to drastically reduce sulfur dioxide emissions after New Jersey complained that the facility had worsened air quality across state lines.
The EPA has proposed a rule that would force Portland Generating Station in Northampton County, Pa., to reduce its SO2 emissions by about 81 percent over a three-year period.
