Developing The Marcellus Shale

Law360, New York (June 24, 2011, 4:25 PM ET) -- Pennsylvania sits directly atop the Marcellus Shale formation, the largest unconventional natural gas reserve in the world. The shale, which lies about one mile underground, is estimated to be roughly the size of Greece, and a recent Penn State study found the formation may hold more than double the natural gas reserves of Saudi Arabia.
