TVA Has Claims Trimmed From Coal Ash Suits

Law360, New York (August 02, 2011, 7:38 PM ET) -- The Tennessee Valley Authority on Tuesday had claims for personal injury, emotional distress and inverse condemnation trimmed from consolidated litigation in federal court over the 2008 spill of coal ash sludge near the Watts Bar Reservoir.

Varlan said that property owners and residents who sued TVA in the wake of the spill had not produced evidence to go forward on the personal injury or condemnation claims.
