Law360, New York (August 25, 2011, 1:38 PM ET) -- Consumer packaging company Rexam Inc. agreed Monday to pay approximately $630,000 to settle a suit brought by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency over cleanup costs for a New Jersey Superfund site.
The EPA and Rexam asked U.S. District Judge Joel A. Pisano to approve a consent decree that would resolve Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act claims against the company connected to the Crown Vantage Landfill, an abandoned, inactive landfill next to the Delaware River that was declared a Superfund site in 2005.
