Law360, Washington (August 30, 2011, 11:44 AM ET) -- The Fifth Circuit on Monday reversed a lower court's decision to grant three insurers summary judgment in a suit accusing them of unfairly dodging more than $3 million in oil spill cleanup claims filed by Jefferson Block 24 Oil & Gas LLC.
The oil company, which operates seven offshore drilling units, said Aspen Insurance UK Ltd., Ace European Group and certain underwriters at Lloyd’s of London refused to pay for the cleanup costs of a November 2007 oil spill.
