Law360, New York (September 29, 2011, 5:40 PM ET) -- Puget Soundkeeper Alliance sued SSA Terminals LLC in Washington on Wednesday, accusing the terminal operator of harming local waters by improperly discharging stormwater and other pollutants from a Seattle cargo facility.
The environmental organization claims that SSA, doing business as Stevedoring Services of America Terminals Inc., has repeatedly breached the Clean Water Act and its discharge permit, worsening fecal coliform conditions in the East and West Duwamish waterways and Elliott Bay, helping to land those bodies on a list of impaired waters.
