Law360, New York (September 29, 2011, 6:51 PM ET) -- Earthjustice and other environmental groups announced Thursday that they would ask the Ninth Circuit to review federal regulators' tentative approval of Shell Offshore Inc.'s plan to drill oil exploration wells in the Beaufort Sea in Alaska.
The U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement on Aug. 4 conditionally approved Shell's proposal to drill up to four shallow-water exploration wells in the Beaufort Sea beginning in July 2012.
