Law360, Washington (October 31, 2011, 3:55 PM ET) -- The government is responsible for environmental cleanup costs at Texas and Louisiana facilities where Exxon Mobil Corp. predecessors made aviation fuel for the military during World War II, a U.S. Court of Federal Claims judge ruled Monday.
Judge Loren A. Smith granted Exxon's motion for partial summary judgment on its claim that the fuel contracts between the government and the two refineries cover Exxon’s cleanup costs, holding the government liable for the costs.
