EPA Agrees To Take Action On Haze Plans

Law360, New York (November 10, 2011, 5:22 PM ET) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday entered into a consent decree with environmental groups that sets deadlines for the agency to act on plans for dozens of states to reduce air pollution that causes haze in national parks and wilderness areas.

The agreement would end a lawsuit in Washington federal court that accused the EPA of blowing a Jan. 15 deadline to issue final plans for 34 states and territories, and not acting on proposed haze plans for nine other states and one region....
