Law360, New York (February 23, 2012, 8:08 PM ET) -- Environmental advocates Earthjustice on Tuesday threatened to sue the U.S. Forest Service if the agency doesn’t fix problems at a Florida dam that allegedly imperils manatees and sturgeons, both of which are protected under the Endangered Species Act.
Earthjustice said in a letter of intent to sue that the Forest Service has violated the act by not forcing action to dismantle the dam, which is the leading cause of death for manatees in the area.
