Law360, New York (February 27, 2012, 5:56 PM ET) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and various government bureaus announced new policies Monday designed to protect communities facing greater health and environmental risks.
The EPA said the policies — which include allowing more input in federally funded road projects and letting Native American tribes conduct their own studies of some nuclear projects — were meant to integrate environmental justice concerns into federal decision-making and programs in areas such as transportation, labor, health services and housing.
