Calif. Judge Trims Insurer From Arrow Cleanup Coverage Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (May 02, 2012, 9:01 PM ET) -- A Los Angeles judge on Wednesday dismissed Certain Underwriters at Lloyd’s, London from Arrow Electronics Inc.’s suit seeking insurance coverage for cleaning up groundwater contamination at a 429-acre Norco, Calif., site but declined to let Century Indemnity Co. out of the suit.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge John Shepard Wiley Jr. told attorneys Wednesday that Arrow’s insurance contract with Lloyd’s clearly excluded the cleanup costs at issue, entitling the insurer to summary judgment, but rejected Century’s separate motion arguing it wasn’t required to provide contractual liability...
