Gas Co. Inks $4M Deal To End EPA's Pollution Suit

Law360, Washington (May 17, 2012, 6:10 PM ET) -- After being accused of a series of violations of the Clean Air Act at five of its natural gas compressor sites in northeast Utah, QEP Field Services Co. on Wednesday agreed to a $4 million settlement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

QEP will pay a $3.65 million penalty to the government to resolve past liability for its alleged failure to live up to permitting requirements, according to a consent decree issued by the Utah federal court. Another $350,000 will go into a clean air trust...
