Law360, New York (May 29, 2012, 8:00 PM ET) -- Mid-America Pipeline Co. LLC and Enterprise Products Operating LLC on Tuesday agreed to pay more than $1 million in civil penalties to settle violations of the federal Clean Water Act related to three natural gasoline pipeline spills in Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska.
In a consent decree filed in Nebraska federal court, the companies also agreed to spend at least $200,000 to identify and prevent external threats to the pipeline involved in the spills and to undertake other measures to improve their reporting of spills.
