Law360, New York (June 22, 2012, 1:24 PM ET) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced Friday it is withdrawing a direct final use rule establishing notification requirements for chemical substances used mostly by chemical manufacturers and petroleum refineries, as a critic of the action expressed interest in submitting adverse comments on the rule.
Since the EPA initially established the significant new use rule as a direct action, the agency said it is required to withdraw its action when it receives any objection. The EPA is now issuing the same action, which requires notification 90 days...
