Law360, New York (July 06, 2012, 7:42 PM ET) -- Oilfield services giant Weatherford US LP on Thursday hit Middough Inc. with a suit in Texas federal court over the ownership of drawings the engineering firm prepared for an underwater containment system to capture oil and gas in the event of an offshore blowout.
The suit alleges that Middough was terminated as the engineering subcontractor from the project because of shoddy work that caused delays and cost overruns, but having paid millions for them, Weatherford owned the designs.
