Enviros Fail To Sink Shell's Suit Over Alaskan Drilling

Law360, New York (August 17, 2012, 1:34 PM ET) -- A federal judge on Thursday declined to dismiss two Royal Dutch Shell PLC units' preemptive lawsuit against several environmental groups the energy giant says are going to try to stop its search for oil off the coast of Alaska.

It was the second time this summer the defendants, which include the Center For Biological Diversity, the Sierra Club and Greenpeace, have failed in an attempt to dismiss the lawsuit, which was initiated after the groups allegedly threatened to challenge the effectiveness of Shell's disaster response plans....
