Law360, New York (August 29, 2012, 3:40 PM ET) -- With Hurricane Isaac tearing into the Gulf Coast, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Tuesday waived Clean Air Act rules for gasoline sold in a quarter of Louisiana's parishes, a rare move intended to avert fuel shortages.
The action, which applies to 14 of 64 parishes in Louisiana, came one day after the state requested an exemption from seasonal restrictions aimed at curbing emissions linked to increased ground-level ozone and related health troubles.
