Law360, New York (January 28, 2013, 7:48 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Energy on Friday threw out a last-ditch attempt by the Sierra Club to prevent Cheniere Energy Inc. from moving forward with plans to ship liquefied natural gas overseas from export facilities the company is building in Louisiana.
In a 24-page order, Energy Department officials denied the Sierra Club's request for a rehearing to intervene in proceedings on Cheniere's authorization to export liquefied natural gas, saying the deadline for intervening had long passed.
