DOE's Steven Chu To Step Down After 4 Years

Law360, New York (February 01, 2013, 2:31 PM ET) -- U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Steven Chu said Friday he that planned to leave his post in the coming weeks and return to academia, following a four-year term marked by unprecedented support for renewable energy projects and frequent clashes with congressional Republicans.

A Nobel laureate and former physics and biology professor, Chu said he would remain in his post at least through the end of February, then head back to his home state of California to resume teaching and research.
