Law360, New York (February 12, 2013, 6:57 PM ET) -- A bipartisan group of senators floated legislation Monday that would make it easier for companies to develop renewable energy installations on public lands by treating them more like fossil fuel projects.
Sens. Jon Tester, D-Mont., and Dean Heller, R-Nev., along with six other lawmakers, introduced the Public Lands Renewable Energy Development Act, which would remove some of the regulatory barriers that have held up wind, solar and geothermal projects on lands managed by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
