Law360, New York (March 07, 2013, 7:52 PM ET) -- Consumer and environmental advocates accused Chevron USA Inc. of violating a federal ban on political contributions by government contractors when it paid $2.5 million to a Republican Super PAC, according to a complaint filed Tuesday with the Federal Election Commission.
The complainants, Public Citizen, Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace and Oil Change International, said Chevron gave money to the Congressional Leadership Fund, an “independent expenditure political committee” with ties to House Speaker John Boehner and the Republican party's congressional campaign committee.
