Ex-BP Engineer Denies Destroying Evidence In Spill Case

Law360, New York (April 4, 2013, 6:20 PM ET) -- An attorney for a former BP PLC engineer accused of obstructing justice entered a not guilty plea on his behalf Wednesday in Louisiana federal court, signaling he’ll continue to fight beefed-up charges of destroying evidence related to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
The plea on behalf of Kurt E. Mix came two weeks after a federal grand jury added new allegations to support two counts of obstruction of justice, accusing the ex-engineer of deleting 350 iPhone voicemails he’d been order to preserve. Fifty-five of those voicemails...
