Conrail Hit With New Suit Over NJ Train Derailment

Law360, Philadelphia (May 03, 2013, 7:01 PM ET) -- Consolidated Rail Corp. was hit with a lawsuit Thursday in Pennsylvania court, the latest in a string of complaints seeking to find the company liable for damages stemming from a train derailment and chemical spill outside Philadelphia.

The suit is one of several the company is facing in state and federal courts in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania over the accident, alleging Conrail, Norfolk Southern Railway Co. and CSX Transportation Inc. should have known that the East Jefferson Street Bridge in Paulsboro, N.J., was in danger...
