EU Again Pushes Solar Panel Trade Deal With China

Law360, New York (June 21, 2013, 12:27 PM ET) -- Standing beside his Chinese counterpart, European trade chief Karel De Gucht reiterated Friday that the European Union wants to reach a negotiated settlement with Beijing on the prickly issue of Chinese solar panels.

The statements came three days after De Gucht's office confirmed that European and Chinese negotiators were holding confidential, technical-level talks for a bilateral resolution to the EU's long-running complaint that government-subsidized Chinese exporters are flooding Europe with underpriced solar panels.
