UK To Invest $100 Million For Offshore Wind Development

Law360, New York (August 1, 2013, 4:04 PM ET) -- The United Kingdom is partnering with private businesses to invest £66 million ($100 million) in the country's offshore wind industry, launching a plan that it says will contribute £7 billion to the national economy by 2020, the U.K. government announced Thursday.

The U.K. government has pledged £20 million pounds from its state-owned regional growth fund to improve the supply chain in the U.K. wind industry and has also pledged £46 million for research and development in the private wind industry, the government and in universities....
