DuPont Vows To Appeal $196M Pollution Ruling

Law360, New York (February 26, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Lashing out at a circuit court's Monday decision upholding $196.2 million in punitive damages in a class action pollution case, E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co. said Tuesday it plans to appeal the ruling to West Virginia's highest court.

Stacey J. Mobley, general counsel for the Wilmington, Del.-based chemical company, said in a statement Tuesday that DuPont was “extremely disappointed” by the ruling and hoped the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia would grant its request for review of the case as well as...
