Law360, New York (September 03, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- The federal government has proposed expanding the scope of its endangered species listing for Atlantic salmon in Maine to cover fish along the entire length of three of the state's biggest rivers.
The proposal, published in the Federal Register Wednesday, seeks to redraw the boundaries of the current endangered designation to include salmon populations in the Androscoggin, Kennebec and Penobscot river basins.
Maine Atlantic salmon in rivers and streams from the lower Kennebec River north to the U.S.-Canada border are already covered.
