Text Order
TEXT ORDER: Under section I(A) of the Courts Initial Order, counsel "should be ready for trial within twelve months from the date of service of the complaint." If the parties believe the case "will take more than a year to bring to trial," they must "justify their need to provide deadlines beyond that time" with a showing of "extraordinary circumstances." The parties have proposed deadlines extending beyond a year without adequately justifying their proposal. The Court therefore rejects the parties proposed deadlines. The parties must therefore propose new deadlines by Friday, July 24, 2026 that either (i) provide for trial readiness within a year of service of the complaint, or (ii) set out with particularity the extraordinary circumstances that justify deadlines extending beyond a year. If the parties re-urge deadlines beyond one year without adequate justification, the Court will enter a standard scheduling order without further input. Signed by Judge Liles C Burke on 7/20/26. (SPT ) (Entered: 07/20/2026)
