MINUTE entry before the Honorable Edmond E. Chang: Video motion hearing held on defense counsel's motion to withdraw, R. 388. Counsel for the Plaintiffs appeared by video, as did Defendants Brian Birk and Richard Birk. Defense counsel appeared by audio due to technical difficulties. Without objection from the Plaintiffs and from Defendants Brian Birk and Richard Birk, Attorney Pamela Gorcowski's motion to withdraw as counsel for the Defendants 388 is granted. The trial date of 01/11/2027, as well as the pretrial-filings deadlines, remain set, R. 375. The parties were reminded that the trial could be accelerated to mid-10/2026 if a two-month trial that is currently on Judge Chang's trial calendar settles, though it is nearing the time when this will not be feasible. The Plaintiffs and Defendants Brian and Richard Birk shall confer on interim deadlines leading up to the 11/03/2026 pretrial-order deadline. In the upcoming joint status report, which is due 07/14/2026, the parties shall include the proposed interim deadlines. The Court reminded the parties that the Standing Order on preparing the proposed pretrial order governs, including the early vetting of exhibits. The Court hereby again notifies the pro se Defendants of the availability of the Pro Se Help Desk; information about how to make an appointment is available on the Northern District of Illinois' website, as is information on the Settlement Assistance Program. The Pro Se Help Desk is staffed with volunteer lawyers. Information is at https://www.ilnd.uscourts.gov/Pages.aspx?/2+UWDbtVzCDq3Lu8BusuQ==. Emailed notice (mw, ) (Entered: 06/25/2026)
