DOE Warns Lockheed Unit Over Worker Exposure To Toxins

Law360, New York (March 09, 2012, 12:31 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Energy has warned a Lockheed Martin Corp. unit that runs the government's Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico and California for exposing workers to high levels of toxic airborne substances, including beryllium, styrene and lead, the DOE confirmed Friday.

From June 2010 to July 2011, several workers for Sandia Corp. or its subcontractors were exposed to levels of inhalable beryllium, styrium and lead that exceeded health and safety standards, according a March 5 letter the DOE sent the company.
